Memorial Hermann Football Operations Center
The Memorial Hermann Football Operations Center, which opened in July 2025 at the University of Houston, is a 160,000-square-foot facility designed as a "one-stop shop" for the football program, featuring a highly efficient layout with specialized areas for player recovery, training, and operations. University of Houston Athletics University of Houston Athletics +3 First Floor Layout (Player Focus & Operations) Entrance & Mudroom: The main entrance is known as Yokabitis Hall. Upon entering, players pass through a 1,800-square-foot "mudroom" equipped with a car wash-style system to remove debris, followed by a cold plunge/recovery area with water temperatures between 45-50 degrees. Locker Room & Amenities: The facility includes an open-concept locker room with three bays of specialized lockers. It features a "hype tunnel" for direct access to the field, a lounge area for players, and a team theater with tiered seating. Sports Medicine & Nutrition: The sports medicine area includes a rehabilitation space with a glass curtain wall, two hydrotherapy tanks (hot/cold), a sauna, and a nutrition center with a walk-in cooler. Equipment: Located at the end of the locker room corridor, the area includes a dedicated loading dock, gear cubbies, and high-density storage. Facebook Facebook +1 Second Floor Layout (Training & Staff) Weight Room: A massive 21,000 to 22,000-square-foot performance center with specialized racks and high ceilings. It is connected to the first floor by unique training staircases and ramps, including a 30-degree ramp. Coaching & Administrative Offices: Features offices for Head Coach Willie Fritz and staff, along with a large staff meeting room. Meeting Rooms: Includes specialized offensive and defensive meeting rooms and a two-level team auditorium without natural light. Indoor Practice Facility Connection: The north end of the building connects directly to the existing indoor practice facility.
